The vision for Ceanapse emerges from observations of climate change threatening Lake Victoria's shorelines and the struggles of fishing communities, particularly women engaged in small scale fishing, fish trading, and value addition.
Post election violence impacts accelerate the need for community support. Ceanapse officially establishes itself with a mission to address blue economy challenges and community resilience.
Expanded operations to multiple sites including the shores of Lake Turkana, Lake Victoria and Nairobi river, Pate Island in Lamu, and Diani Chale. Launched comprehensive programs in environmental education, safety at sea through early warning systems, blue conservation and mCDR - engaging coastal communities on ocean alkalinity enhancement.
