Community Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihood

Restoring Lake Victoria's shoreline through youth-led action

Shauri Yako, an informal settlement on Lake Victoria's edge, has been plagued by pollution and degradation. Ceanapse is bringing together young people to reclaim this neglected lakeside and transform it into the first ever Lacustrine Community Park in Homabay (a clean, green, community owned space that protects the lake and restores dignity).

This fully youth led project involves local households, women's groups, and environmental clubs in clean ups, tree planting, and lake protection activities. Every contribution helps build a sustainable model of grassroots blue economy restoration.
